Racism, Antizionism, and Meritocracy.
What is racism? This is a question few ask and fewer answer, including those who consider themselves, often mistakenly, anti-racists. It’s easy to find definitions, if you feel the need. Here are a couple:
Racism is a form of prejudice that generally includes negative emotional reactions to members of the group, acceptance of negative stereotypes, and racial discrimination against individuals; in some cases, it leads to violence.

A belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

There are many causes of racism. There is the racism used to justify slavery. There is the racism of the children raised by white supremacist parents in communities where racism is the norm, ingrained from the earliest age with the idea that dark skin signifies inferiority. There is the racism of the man violently abused and robbed in the street, who resents his own fear and resentment of the race of the people who did it. There is the racism of the woman who was sexually abused as a child and wouldn’t have a boyfriend of that race again. There is the racism of those like Dave Chappelle who can’t utter a sentence without saying ‘nigger’. There is the racism of the welcoming native that isn’t offered to his own.
And there are many problems. From murderous violence to favoritism and from name calling to jokes. So, pinning down what racism is and what is wrong with it is not easy. For a few decades now, racism has been taboo. In most of Western society, overt expressions of racism resulted in ostracism. Conversely, kudos was gained from proclaiming it an abhorrence. Public protestations and taking a stand against this entity of racism gained status. It wasn’t necessary to explain what racism was or why you opposed it. It was bad, and therefore you were good, that was enough. What is bad about racism was seldom asked.
Of course, there are many bad things about racism. It’s not fair; it’s violent; it’s prejudice based on no justifiable criteria; there is no credible scientific evidence for racial superiority or inferiority; it has a legacy of inhumanity. But the main purpose of racism is rarely understood. It is to increase or protect the status and opportunities of a favored group, or race and to prevent the meritocratic advance of others. Of all the bad things about racism, there is a strong argument to say that anti-meritocracy is, in the long run, the worst of all.
This is because anti-meritocratic, or hierarchical societies, do not progress as well as meritocratic, free and open societies. Sparta only matched Athens in war as Russia only matches the West in the same. The technological movers and shakers, the USA, Israel, South Korea and Japan are open societies. North Korea and the EU with its bureaucratic control and slow march towards censorship are closed or closing societies. This is why there is no EU Silicon Valley.
But wait, what about monocultural Japan? What about communist (or is it state capitalist?) China? They’re hardly open, anti-racist societies, yet they can innovate and have made great progress, often leading the world. Well both leapt forward when they opened up to international trade: Japan in the mid-19th Century and China a few decades ago under Deng Xiaopeng. Japan’s recent economic stagnation is the result of the end of its opening up period. While China, despite the Great Firewall, is absorbing magnitudes more information from the rest of the world than ever before. And its current economic woes are the consequence of more recent closing down policies.
Of course, these issues are too complex to cover in depth here. For centuries the UK was, arguably, the most open society ever. But by failing to open its economy to the progress of the world beyond the EU, it has failed to capitalize on Brexit. Within the UK, the elite social structure of the past appears to have been diluted with university attendance having increased from around ten percent to close to fifty percent in recent decades. But, as the progress of ASEAN nations relative to the UK (as well as the EU) shows, the accompanying dilution of quality and the assault on critical thinking in education have reduced its competitiveness compared to those same fast developing nations.
The sickness of the UK’s educational failure is clearest in the abandonment of critical thinking towards Zionism. The unhinged, hateful dogmas that Israel is genocidal, apartheid, undemocratic, and that Zionism is racist is the product of the most closed minds our species can produce when the evidence is so contrary. There is nothing more racist than the lie that Jews, the victims of the Nazi genocide, are the perpetrators against a people who supported that worst of all genocides and who now mostly support a terrorist organisation that aims to commit another against the Jews. It is the moral equivalence of shrieking in the face of a pregnant mother who has seen her children murdered that she is a baby-killer, whilst planning to murder her unborn child. Yet, while other forms of hate speech are punished, this nastiest of all examples goes unchallenged constantly. But it is not the moral failing that is the greatest problem with this blood-libel. It is the failure of critical thought.
It is the product of the same woke mind virus that dogmatically states a woman can have a penis and a man can give birth, when a basic primary school education provides the knowledge required to dismiss this as fantasy. The definition of Zionism can be disputed. But anti-Zionism can only mean the destruction of the Jewish state because it is the Jewish state. Therefore, anyone who does not wish the annihilation of Israel is a Zionist. This is rarely thought through because the dogmatic antizionist mind is incapable. Therefore, so-called antizionists who claim to want a two-state solution uncritically join protests with those who simply hate Jews having a state.
And it is the product of the Islamic world, with its supremacist, imperialist, and ultra-hierarchical religious structures that will not tolerate a Jewish state any more than it will tolerate criticism of its prophet and that, “instructs believers to avoid asking unnecessary, probing questions about matters left vague by revelation” (Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:101) . The Muslim Golden Age, or rather the Arab-Persian Golden Age was a long time ago. Adherence to the absolutist dogmas of the final prophet, the perfection of the Quran and the final word of God, are the impurities that have corroded hope of another. Vying with the socialist societies of North Korea and pre-Deng Xiaopeng China for the dishonor of world’s most closed societies, the Muslim world stands in contrast to Israel, excusing its failures by blaming Western imperialism rather than developing technologically and politically.
Until recently. Despite the current conflicts, the Abraham Accords have continued with Kazakhstan the latest Muslim nation to join. The UAE, where Netanyahu secretly visited, along with Saudi and other Gulf states are attempting to diversify from their God-given fossil economies, which necessitates a degree of opening up and reviewing hierarchical structures, notably regarding women’s status which, albeit it slowly, is improving. Unlike in Iran, where the regime has installed as closed and hierarchical a system as exists anywhere, except perhaps Afghanistan and North Korea.
If parts of the Middle East are opening up, what then for Europe as it sanctions hatred of Zionism in the form of banning music contests and refusing to assist in confronting Iran while legitimizing the blood-libels against Israel and demonization of Jews as their state defends itself against the same? The general trajectory is apparent already. Whether it lasts will be known soon. But the Muslim world is opening up and dealing with the Jewish state, Europe is closing down and its tolerance of antizionist hatred and racist slander is resulting in a judenfrei continent. Jews in the UK are now less protected by the police from racist violence, and along with the white working class, have become second-class citizens as the intersectional, antimeritocratic religion of woke perverts its institutions. Islamists and middle-class wokeists can call for violence in their thousands, to slit their enemies’ throats and to globalize the intifada in the faces of Jews and outside of synagogues. But Lucy Connolly was imprisoned for a tweet she quickly regretted and deleted. In Germany, chants for Adolph Hitler and Nazi salutes have returned to the streets alongside chants of Allahu Akbar, and the same appears true across the EU and beyond.
Five hundred years ago, The Scientific Revolution in Europe began, followed by The Enlightenment. Oliver Cromwell’s New Model Army became the most powerful fighting force in Europe by selecting its leaders on merit rather than on social rank. Hierarchical structures gradually gave way to meritocracies and Jews were permitted to participate in academic and scientific life. They excelled because Judaism’s culture of criticism and study was turned towards science. Both capitalism and socialism played a part in the rise of the middle classes, the further emancipation of the working classes and erosion of aristocratic hierarchy. But socialism has disintegrated in its recent iteration of wokeism into a twisted inversion of itself.
As New Zealand politician Ashley Church writes, “Over the past 30 years the modern parties of the left have shifted their focus away from advocating for ‘equal rights’ for workers, women and ethnic minorities toward policies which favour selected groups over others, elevate identity above merit, weaken long-standing cultural norms, undermine traditional faith and family structures, and redefine equality away from equal treatment and toward unequal outcomes.” Australia’s Bondi Beach terror attack has not woken up its woke government, which rewarded Hamas by recognizing Palestine. Much of the democratic world has failed. Britain’s Labour government just lost over 50% of its councilors to newly formed parties in local elections and more extreme political parties are gaining support in Europe amongst disaffected voters.
The Jews are fleeing persecution once more but this time to the security of the refuge offered by their state. Only the people of Europe can reverse their trajectory away from anti-meritocracy; away from an unelected, bureaucratic, globalist elite that seeks their replacement by subsuming them into a global peasant class, providing cheap labour alongside the migrants purposefully allowed to enter illegally, including the dregs of the Muslim world who have made life impossible for Jews in Europe, who hate the West, and nurse a sense of grievance against it fostered by wokeism.
Can the UK, can Europe escape the pull of conformism to the groupthink of the globalist religious dogma of wokeism? The meritocratic process of democratic elections will tell us soon. But it looks unlikely.
